Kim Jones Re-establishes His Own Fashion Brand

Instructions

Renowned fashion visionary Kim Jones is embarking on a new chapter, announcing the re-launch of his personal fashion house, slated to unveil its inaugural collection in Fall 2027. This marks a significant return for Jones, who previously led creative directions at prestigious labels like Dior and Fendi, and shuttered his initial eponymous brand nearly two decades ago. His re-emergence signifies a fresh artistic exploration, promising to blend innovative design with a profound understanding of contemporary culture, a hallmark of his illustrious career.

Jones’s journey in the fashion world began with his own label in 2003, gaining early recognition when John Galliano acquired pieces from his Central Saint Martins graduate collection. Following its closure in 2008, he transitioned to Dunhill, where he honed his expertise in British tailoring and luxury goods. His influence expanded dramatically during his tenure as style director for Louis Vuitton’s menswear division, a role he assumed three years later. The designer's career continued its upward trajectory with his appointment as artistic director at Dior Men in March 2018. Subsequently, in September 2020, he took the reins at Fendi as artistic director, overseeing couture, ready-to-wear, and fur, succeeding the legendary Karl Lagerfeld. He concluded his impactful tenures at Fendi and Dior in late 2024 and early 2025, respectively, paving the way for this exciting new venture.

A true pioneer, Jones redefined menswear, infusing high fashion with a modern streetwear sensibility. His approach involved meticulously delving into the archives of heritage brands and revitalizing their themes with influences drawn from athletic apparel, music, art, and diverse youth subcultures. This innovative methodology made luxury fashion more culturally resonant, bridging the gap between high-end design and broader pop culture trends. He was also an early proponent of brand collaborations, notably orchestrating Louis Vuitton’s landmark partnership with Supreme in 2017. During his time at Dior, he continued this practice, collaborating with an array of artists and brands including Stüssy, Yoon Ahn of Ambush, Daniel Arsham, and ERL, all showcased at spectacular runway events attended by global icons like David Beckham, Kate Moss, and Travis Scott.

In the intervening period since his departure from Dior and Fendi, Jones has dedicated his creative energies to various smaller yet impactful projects. In 2025, he assumed the role of creative director for Areal, a high-end urbanwear line under the prominent Chinese outerwear corporation Bosideng, further contributing to the burgeoning segment of luxury performancewear. This past summer, he also unveiled a collaboration with Aman Essentials, the lifestyle product division of the esteemed luxury hospitality group. These endeavors reflect his continuous commitment to innovation and expanding his creative footprint across different facets of design.

With the revival of his namesake brand, Jones aims to transcend traditional fashion boundaries, delving into the realms of art and comprehensive design. The forthcoming collection will prioritize versatility, catering to both men and women, moving beyond conventional categories. Production will largely take place in Japan, with leather goods crafted in Italy, ensuring a blend of meticulous craftsmanship and premium materials. The brand's retail expansion is set to commence with its first store opening in Hong Kong in October 2027, with plans for additional locations across Asia and partnerships with international retailers to follow. This much-anticipated return promises an unfiltered presentation of his unique vision, built upon a rich legacy of transforming and inspiring the global fashion landscape.
